Formed in 2001 by Antonio R. Bologna, FAIA, Bologna Consultants was established to provide Consulting and Project Management services to individuals, organizations and institutions on a variety of issues relative to the Built Environment.

Brief Biography

Memphis Architect, Downtown Developer and Project Development Consultant, and a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects

As an architect, Tony headed the architectural and planning firm of Bologna & Associates, Inc. for 21 years, concentrating his design activities on the restoration, revitalization and redevelopment of downtown Memphis. 

In 2001, Bologna Consultants, LLC was established to provide consulting services to individuals, organizations and institutions on a  variety of issues relative to the Built Environment. Bologna Consultants, LLC has expanded its mission to provide Project   Management services on a variety of developments.

Tony is a past chair and member of the Memphis and Shelby County Building Code Advisory Board.  He was instrumental in the development and adoption of the first seismic building code for Memphis and Shelby County and each subsequent seismic upgrade of the code. He was instrumental in developing the city's first anti-neglect ordinance. Tony was recently appointed by Mayor Wharton as citizen co-chair for Building Codes for the Mayor’s Sustainable Shelby Initiative.

Former Vice-president of Development for Henry Turley Company for twelve years, and Director of Development for both Harbor Town and South Bluffs Planned Developments. Tony continues to be involved in Downtown’s redevelopment as a development consultant under the firm name Bologna Consultants, LLC which provides consulting services on the “Built Environment” to Developers, Architects, Institutions and Individuals.

1989 Urban Design and environment Award from Memphis Center City Commission

2001 Downtown Pioneer Award from Downtowner Magazine

2004 recipient of the Memphis Center City Commission’s Vision Award.

2009 recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from

Memphis Chapter of Lambda Alpha International

A1964 graduate of Tulane University with a Masters degree in Architecture. 

Tony has lived in Memphis for over 50 years.

Tony & Dee have been married for over 60 years, and have three children and seven grandchildren.
